A beautifully toned tetradrachm of Selinos

SICILY. Selinos. Circa 430-420 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.73 g, 2 h). Apollo and Artemis standing right in a quadriga moving slowly to right; Artemis holding the reins and Apollo drawing his bow; in exergue, barley corn. Rev. ΣΕΛΙΝΟΝΤΙΟΝ The river-god Selinos standing front, head to left, holding laurel branch in his left hand and a phiale in his right; to left, garlanded altar; before altar, a rooster standing left; to right, selinon leaf over a bull standing left on a base. HGC 2, 1221. Schwabacher 16 (Q5/S14). SNG ANS 696 (same obverse die). A beautifully toned example. Minor area of corrosion on the obverse and with light marks, otherwise, very fine.
